February 26, 2023 – At 2 a.m., Houston Police Department officers were called to assist an off-duty officer at Parma in detaining a male suspect. A large crowd gathered and gunfire erupted from different directions around Parma. Several males were detained, and two guns and one long rifle were recovered. A stray bullet struck an adult female sitting in the back of a vehicle in her mouth, but she is expected to survive. Another occupant of the vehicle was grazed by a bullet and is also expected to survive.
