Houston, TX – June 10, 2023: Houston Police Department (HPD) is investigating a shooting incident that occurred around 12:45 a.m., leaving a young woman in critical condition.
The woman, in her mid-20s, was shot in the torso with a rifle while in the driver’s seat of her car. After returning from a gas station off West Montgomery with her boyfriend in the passenger seat, the couple pulled up to a house where several family members were present.
According to reports, a white truck drove past the scene and opened fire on her vehicle, causing multiple bullet holes. Other cars parked in the driveway were also hit, though thankfully, no other individuals were injured in the shooting.
HPD officers arrived at the scene promptly and provided immediate assistance. The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she is undergoing surgery and remains in critical condition.
Currently, the only lead is the white truck seen passing by during the incident. The motive behind the shooting is yet unknown.
HPD is appealing to anyone with additional information or video footage of the event to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
