September 22, 2023 – Houston Police say a woman was fatally struck by an 18-wheeler truck near the intersection of Travis and Franklin. Officers were dispatched to the scene following a report that a person had been hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of an adult female, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased woman was either riding or standing next to an electric scooter at the time of the accident. The incident occurred as an 18-wheeler truck drove down Franklin Street, striking the woman.
