Florida Man Arrested After Multi-County High-Speed Chase in 18-Wheeler

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TEXAS – Nov. 8, 2023 – A Florida man, Christopher John Lubowski, 51, led law enforcement on a high-speed chase in an 18-wheeler that spanned over 2.5 hours and multiple counties in Texas on Saturday. Lubowski now faces felony charges of evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

The pursuit, which began in Montgomery County, was initiated by the Roman Forest Police Department in response to reports of reckless driving. The chase involved dangerous maneuvers, with the 18-wheeler swerving across interstates, narrowly avoiding other vehicles and nearly hitting deputies.

The pursuit continued through Harris and Fort Bend counties and eventually ended in a Fulshear neighborhood in Fort Bend County. Lubowski was apprehended with the combined efforts of several Houston-area law enforcement agencies, including the Houston Police Department and the Department of Public Safety, utilizing tactical forces and aviation units.

Methamphetamine was discovered inside the truck’s cabin, leading to the controlled substance charge against Lubowski.
