Homeless man struck by teen driver

Northwest Patrol officers responded to an incident under I-10 at about 11:30 PM, where a car struck a homeless man sleeping under the bridge. The driver, a 17-year-old male, attempted to flee the scene but was detained by employees of a nearby Jack in the Box.

The driver showed signs of intoxication and is currently under investigation by DWI officers. The county district attorney’s office will determine charges following the investigation. Further details are pending.
