Houston, TX – March 2, 2024 – A man has been fatally shot by Harris County Sheriff’s deputies this morning in an incident that began with the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies arrived at the 9800 block of Fleming Springs Drive in response to reports of a stolen car. Upon arrival, they encountered a man armed with an “uzi-type” firearm. A confrontation ensued, leading deputies to open fire and strike the suspect. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers were injured.
