One deceased, one hospitalized after shooting at Missionary Village Apartments

HOUSTON, TX – A fatal shooting at the Missionary Village apartment complex at 4002 Corder Street earlier this morning will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, according to Houston police.

The shooting occurred around 5:55 a.m. and involved two men who got into a confrontation inside an apartment. Gunfire was exchanged, resulting in the death of a 43-year-old man whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The second individual, a 33-year-old man, sustained a non life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to police, Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported both men to the hospital, where one was pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has determined the case will be reviewed by a Harris County grand jury.
