HOUSTON, TX – A driver was detained after leading authorities on a 40-minute pursuit that ended in a crash early Saturday morning in north Houston.
The pursuit began around 1:09 a.m. on March 22, 2025, and ended around 2 a.m. in the 11800 block of W Hardy near Little York and Hardy Toll Road.
According to police, the black four-door vehicle was initially pursued by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office before District 5 patrol units took over. The chase spanned approximately 25 miles and crossed through multiple jurisdictions.
The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle struck a light pole, causing damage to several street lights in the area. The driver was detained at the scene and transported to a local hospital. No other individuals were found inside the vehicle.
The reason for the original pursuit is unknown at this time.
