HOUSTON, TX – A nightclub employee was fatally shot and a bystander injured during a shooting outside Latina’s Bar, also known as Latina’s Moon Lounge on Telephone Road early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 1:41 a.m. in the 4900 block of Telephone Road. According to police, a patron became involved in a dispute with the male working the door. The patron reportedly stepped back, retrieved a firearm, and shot the doorman.
The doorman was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department.
A second individual, who was standing nearby, was also struck by gunfire in the right leg. He was treated on scene by HFD and transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.
