HOUSTON, TX – A 14-year-old passenger was killed in a crash late Saturday night after an SUV struck a tree on the city’s south side.
The crash occurred around 10:44 p.m. on May 10, 2025, in the 3800 block of West Fuqua.
Police said the SUV was traveling westbound when it lost control for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree. Three juveniles were inside the vehicle at the time.
A 14-year-old passenger in the back seat was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and front-seat passenger initially fled but later returned to the location.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing possible charges for failure to stop and render aid.
