Man fatally shot after party at short term rental in Third Ward

HOUSTON, TX – A man was found fatally shot in the street following a party at a short term rental in Houston’s Third Ward early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on July 5 in the 3000 block of Delano. Officers with the Houston Police Department’s South Central Division responded to a shooting call and located a male victim lying in the street. They began performing CPR until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Police said the victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

According to HPD, the victim had been attending a party at a nearby residence that was being rented as an Airbnb, but AirBnb has not confirmed if this was booked through their company. It is not confirmed whether the gathering was related to Fourth of July celebrations.

No suspects are currently in custody. One man was detained at the scene, but his involvement has not been confirmed.
