Driver killed after truck crashes into Brays Bayou in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 5500 block of North Braeswood Boulevard about 6:25 a.m. Monday.

According to Houston police, a white Ford F-350 was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to maintain a single lane. The truck veered off the road, struck a light pole, hit the edge of the bridge rail, and then flipped across the ravine before coming to rest in shallow water.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the 27-year-old male driver deceased at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The investigation is continuing.
