Flooding leaves drivers stranded and homes damaged across Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Heavy downpours in Houston on Sunday left drivers stranded, roads underwater, and some residents cleaning up damage inside their homes.

One of our viewers captured a photo near Tidwell and Jensen in northeast Houston, where intersections along U.S. 59 were also reported flooded.

The storms began late in the morning, moving in from the north and dumping several inches of rain across the city. The slow-moving system caused dangerous driving conditions and widespread street flooding.
