Teen fatally shot during large party in east Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A 17-year-old male was fatally shot during a large outdoor party in east Harris County.

The shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. on August 30 in the 14700 block of Waldine. Deputies arrived to find remnants of a gathering of about 200 people, most of whom fled the location when law enforcement arrived.

According to investigators, the victim was approached by several individuals at the party. An altercation took place, and he was shot during the confrontation. Deputies believe the victim was specifically targeted.

The suspects are described as three to four Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s.

Deputies said the party was an open-air event with a live band, charging admission and serving drinks, though it was not immediately known if it was tied to a celebration. The location was an open area between trailers and not a residence.
