Austin police seize drugs, cash during search; suspect arrested for trafficking and money laundering

AUSTIN, TX – Jesse Carrillo, 33, was arrested on multiple felony charges after Austin Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Red River Street as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

According to the Austin Police Department, the Narcotics Support Unit served the warrant on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at a home located at 91 Red River Street. The operation followed a prolonged investigation focused on drug activity in the Downtown Area Command and East Austin.

Carrillo was arrested at the scene without incident. He is charged with Money Laundering, a second-degree felony, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony. Additional felony charges are pending as the investigation continues.

During the search, detectives seized:

  • 20.4 pounds of marijuana
  • 194 THC vape cartridges
  • 2,900 grams of suspected psilocybin-laced candy bars
  • 8.6 grams of cocaine
  • Over $200,000 in U.S. currency
