Driver injured after box truck crashes into trees on I-93 in New Hampton

NEW HAMPTON, NH, September 13, 2025 – According to New Hampshire State Police, a Massachusetts man suffered minor injuries following a box truck crash along Interstate 93 in New Hampton.

Troopers responded around 4:26 a.m. to reports of a crash near Exit 23 on I-93 northbound. They located a yellow 2012 Hino 258/268 box truck in the trees within the median, having traveled across the crossover between the northbound and southbound lanes.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Anilton Resende Barros of Brockton, Massachusetts, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the roadway, striking an embankment before the truck became airborne and landed in the wooded area separating traffic directions.

Resende Barros sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The crash led to the closure of the left travel lanes in both directions near Exit 23 for approximately four hours. All lanes reopened at 8:58 a.m.
