Owosso man killed in head-on crash with semi in Leroy Township

INGHAM COUNTY, MI – A 48-year-old Owosso man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Leroy Township, according to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 6 a.m. to the crash on Grand River Avenue between Gramer Road and Wallace Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that the man’s eastbound SUV crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound semi-truck driven by a 66-year-old Fowlerville man.

The SUV driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were the Northeast Ingham Emergency Service Authority (NIESA), Williamston Police Department, and the Ingham County Road Department.
