Police are asking for help in shooting death of 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA – Shreveport Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the shooting death of 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine.

Just after midnight on August 31, 2025, officers were dispatched to a shooting at 3384 Bond Street. When they arrived, they found Cameron suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health, where he later died despite life-saving efforts by medical staff.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Witnesses told police that an unknown individual approached from the rear of the residence and opened fire on Cameron before fleeing on foot.

No arrests have been made. Investigators are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.
