ANGLETON, TX – An Angleton ISD school bus was evacuated this afternoon after the driver heard a loud noise while traveling along Business 288.
According to Angleton ISD, the noise was believed to have been caused by a lightning strike. The driver immediately pulled the bus to the side of the road and evacuated all students to ensure their safety.
No injuries were reported, and all students and staff were confirmed safe. The students were later transferred to another bus and transported home.
Members of the AISD Transportation Department mechanical team and the Angleton ISD Police Department responded to the scene to assist and assess the situation.
