AUSTIN, TX – Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson announced that more than 561,000 Texans have voted during the first week of early voting for the Nov. 4 election.

According to Nelson, counties reported 561,819 total ballots cast as of Sunday evening, with in-person voting accounting for the majority of votes. Vote-by-mail ballots totaled 23,510.
“Statewide, Texans are going to the polls to vote on 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution, and many will also have the opportunity to weigh in on local or special elections,” Nelson said. “Now is a good time for eligible voters to make a plan for voting early or casting their ballot on Election Day.”
The total represents roughly 3% of the state’s 18.4 million registered voters. Officials noted the figures are unofficial and will rise as remaining counties report.
Early voting continues through Oct. 31, with Election Day on Nov. 4. Unofficial county early voting numbers are available at goelect.txelections.civixapps.com, and additional voter information can be found at VoteTexas.gov.
