Firefighter sustains minor injuries during early morning commercial fire in Houston

A fire broke out just after 2 a.m. Monday at a commercial building in Houston, in the 2500 block of Southmore on the corner of Live Oak.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the blaze began on the bottom floor of the vacant building, and the roof later collapsed. One firefighter sustained minor injuries, possibly from falling roof tiles, and was transported to a hospital. He has since been released from the hospital.

The Houston Fire Department’s Arson Division is working to determine the cause of the fire.
