HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Judge Lina Hidalgo returned from an international trade mission to Taiwan and Japan, where she led a delegation of business and civic leaders to promote Harris County as a global hub for advanced manufacturing, technology, and clean energy.

The trip, organized in partnership with the Greater Houston Partnership, Houston First, the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Houston, and the Japan America Society of Houston, included meetings with senior government officials and executives from major corporations considering U.S. expansion.
Judge Hidalgo stated that the mission was designed to strengthen international partnerships and attract investments that will create long-term economic growth for Harris County. The delegation highlighted the county’s leadership in energy, technology, and manufacturing.
During the trip, the delegation met with Inventec, Cooler Master, CTBC Bank, Foxconn, Mitsui, Keidanren, JETRO, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, as well as officials from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These discussions focused on business incentives, partnership opportunities, and expansions that could bring thousands of jobs to the region.
Hidalgo emphasized that international investment is key to maintaining Harris County’s competitive position in the global market.
