HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police are investigating a fatal shooting involving an exchange of gunfire between a victim on foot and individuals inside a vehicle at the Edison Apartment Homes at 11700 Westheimer.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Officers arrived and found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to police, three adult males inside a vehicle told officers they were parked in the area when the victim began firing gunshots into their car. At least one person inside the vehicle reportedly returned fire, striking the victim.
The three males were detained at the scene. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing available video. Detectives will present their findings to the district attorney, who will determine whether charges will be filed or if the case will be referred to a grand jury.
