About 50 displaced after two-alarm fire at Jackson Square Apartments in Meyerland area

HOUSTON, TX – About 50 people were displaced following a two-alarm fire at the Life at Jackson Square Apartments in the Meyerland area on Braesvalley.

Firefighters were dispatched around 2:30 a.m., and neighbors assisted crews in evacuating individuals, many of whom were disabled and elderly.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A METRO bus was brought to the scene to provide warmth while residents waited for assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. However, broken hydrants and rain conditions made the response more difficult for firefighters.
