HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed after one suspect was arrested and another remains wanted in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man at 8003 Orebo Street about 10:30 p.m. on November 21.

According to the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division, officers responded to the location and found the victim, Kevin Fowler, with a gunshot wound inside his vehicle. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where he was pronounced deceased on November 24.
Investigators stated the two suspects went to a short-term rental property searching for the girlfriend of Laderrick Dwayne Dixon Jr., 21. The property had two units, and the suspects went to the wrong one, encountering Fowler. Believing he may have been involved with Dixon’s girlfriend, they fired at Fowler’s vehicle as he was leaving the property. Fowler was struck, and three other occupants inside the vehicle were not injured.
Dixon, who was already in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges, has since been charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th Criminal District Court. The second suspect, described as a young, slim Black male, remains at large.
