Driver killed after vehicle strikes tree along South Loop West

HOUSTON, TX – A male driver in his early to mid-20s was pronounced deceased after a single-vehicle crash along the 1700 block of South Loop West westbound.

The crash occurred after the vehicle reportedly crossed multiple lanes of traffic, struck a curb, and then collided with a tree in a grassy area. According to initial information and witness accounts, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.

Tire marks were visible on the roadway, and witnesses reported the vehicle was traveling fast just prior to the crash. The vehicle was described as a black Dodge Charger.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
