One construction worker killed, another critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Crosby

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating a crash that left one construction worker dead and another critically injured Friday night on the Crosby Freeway.

Around 9:45 p.m., a 21-year-old driver was traveling northbound in the 3000 block of the Crosby Freeway (U.S. 90), where several construction workers were present. At the time, one lane was shut down and the other was partially blocked as crews were stripping pavement lane markings.

The driver struck two workers, ages 32 and 40. Both were transported to a downtown hospital by Life Flight. The 32-year-old worker was pronounced deceased, and the 40-year-old remains in critical condition.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The case remains under investigation.
