HOUSTON, TX – Six individuals were shot during a large trail ride gathering at the Big City Food parking lot on Homestead Road.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 11300 block of Homestead, where officers from the Houston Police Department’s Northeast Patrol Division were dispersing a large crowd.
An altercation erupted behind the strip center, leading to an exchange of gunfire among individuals.
Three victims received aid from officers at the scene before being transported by Houston Fire Department crews. Three others arrived at hospitals separately.
Two of the victims are in critical condition, including a possibly 20-year-old male and a possibly 15-year-old male.
The remaining four are in stable condition: a 16-year-old male, a 20-year-old female, a 20-year-old male, and a 22-year-old female.
No suspects have been identified. Police believe multiple shooters may have been involved. The crowd was estimated to be in the hundreds at the time of the incident.
