HOUSTON, TX — A motorcyclist was pronounced deceased after crashing late in the 12300 block of the East Freeway frontage road.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called just after 11 p.m. to the frontage road near an entrance ramp to the East Freeway. Police said the rider attempted to avoid entering the freeway and exit onto the feeder road, missed the exit, struck a curb and was ejected from the motorcycle.
Houston Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the rider deceased at the scene.
Police said the rider was a single occupant and no other vehicles were involved. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The motorcycle was identified as an Indian.
Investigators said speed was reported prior to the crash and may have been a factor. The rider’s age has not been confirmed. Drugs or alcohol have not been determined at this time.
