Man found shot inside pickup truck in east Houston dies at hospital

HOUSTON, TX – A man was found shot inside a pickup truck in east Houston and later died at a hospital.

Around 8:05 p.m., officers with the Houston Police Department’s South Central Patrol Division responded to a shooting call in the 5100 block of Bell Street. When officers arrived, they located a male inside a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck suffering from a gunshot wound.

Houston Fire Department personnel arrived, treated the victim at the scene, and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Police said the shooting occurred one street over in the 5100 block of Clay Street. That area was taped off as investigators collected evidence and awaited homicide detectives to conduct follow-up.

The suspects were described as two Hispanic males wearing black hoodies. One was possibly wearing either an orange and black mask or a yellow and black mask. They were last seen running from the scene. Investigators said the suspects were on foot at the time of the shooting. It is unclear whether one or both were armed.

No weapons were recovered at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
