PORT ARTHUR, TX – Dr. Candice Matthews traveled from Houston to a polling location in Jefferson County yesterday and spoke outside during the election involving Justice of the Peace Judge Joseph L. Guillory.
Video from the scene shows Dr. Matthews wearing a predator-style mask and making remarks directed at the judge, stating, “I may be the predator, but you are my prey today.”
Dr. Matthews accused Guillory of abusing his authority and referenced a previous attempt to hold her in contempt.
A concerned citizen at the location stated he plans to file charges alleging abuse of power and impersonating a police officer involving Guillory. The citizen said the alleged incident is captured on video.
Shortly after Dr. Matthews arrived at the polling location, Guillory left the area with his wife, who said she was there supporting him during the election.
No candidate secured a majority of the vote, and the race will now move to a runoff election in May.
