Woman shot in neck while sitting in vehicle in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was shot in the neck while sitting inside a vehicle in southwest Houston.

Police responded around 10:30 p.m. to the 2700 block of Westridge in the Southwest Patrol Division. Officers found an adult female sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Houston Fire Department crews transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

Police said the suspect had been sitting in the back seat of the vehicle before the shooting and fled the scene on foot wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

The victim was described as possibly being in her mid-30s. Police said the motive is unknown at this time and it is unclear how the individuals involved are connected.
