Husband shot by wife during argument in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex in southwest Houston late last night.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. at the Bellfort Park Apartments located in the 4100 block of West Bellfort.

Officers responding to an assault call were flagged down by a resident who located a male with a gunshot wound in the rear of the apartment complex. The victim was shot one time in the leg and transported to a hospital, where he is believed to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the victim and suspect are married and had been involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a shooting. Both individuals are believed to be in their early 30s and have been married for about ten years.

The wife was detained at the scene and identified as the suspect. One firearm was recovered.

Charges are pending review by the district attorney’s office.
