HOUSTON, TX – A lawsuit filed by Jenifer Knighton of QX Global News against Dr. Candice Matthews and Quanell X has been dismissed for want of prosecution, according to a public statement released by Dr. Matthews.
In the statement, Dr. Matthews said the case “has officially been dismissed for want of prosecution,” indicating that the claims were not advanced in court.
Dr. Matthews stated the lawsuit had been filed and publicized but “fell apart” when it came time to move forward and substantiate the claims, adding that “the court has now spoken.”
She further stated that her work, along with others named in the lawsuit, focuses on “facts, accountability, and public awareness,” and described the legal action as an attempt to retaliate against advocacy and journalism.
Dr. Matthews said she remains committed to addressing issues involving “inhumane conditions, corruption, and injustice,” and indicated that additional developments may follow.
