Man shot after confrontation over alleged trailer theft in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot following a confrontation involving an alleged trailer theft after a trail ride event in southwest Houston.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 14200 block of South Post Oak. Officers responded to a shooting call and found multiple trucks parked haphazardly in the roadway.

According to police, the incident began after a trail ride event that had taken place earlier nearby, with a large number of attendees in the area. As people were leaving, a complainant saw his trailer attached to an unknown truck and believed it was being stolen. The complainant alerted family and friends, and they followed the truck in an attempt to stop the suspect. The group then rammed the suspect’s truck in an effort to get it to stop.

Police said the suspect exited the vehicle and began shooting at the complainant. The complainant was transported by the Houston Fire Department and is in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene.

Other individuals who were on scene left before officers arrived.
