Fire hydrant floods Hillcroft after being struck by vehicle

HOUSTON, TX – A car crashed into a fire hydrant early Saturday morning, causing some flooding and prompting police to shut down Hillcroft in both directions.

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. in the 7800 block of Hillcroft. Water from the damaged hydrant flooded the roadway, leading officers to close the street in both directions.

There was no estimated time for when the roadway would reopen.
