United Airlines to add nonstop flights to Croatia, Italy, Scotland, Spain and more in summer 2026

United Airlines announced today that it will expand its transatlantic network in summer 2026 with new nonstop service to Split, Croatia; Bari, Italy; Glasgow, Scotland; and Santiago de Compostela, Spain — making it the only U.S. airline offering direct service to each of these destinations from Newark, NJ.

The airline will also launch new service from Washington-Dulles to Reykjavik, Iceland, and add year-round daily flights from Newark to Seoul, South Korea. Additionally, United will increase service between Newark and Tel Aviv, Israel, from two to three daily flights.

According to United, this expansion brings its total number of transatlantic destinations to 46 — the most of any U.S. airline. Tickets for all new routes are on sale now.

Highlights of the new routes:

  • Split, Croatia: Begins April 30, 2026, operating three times per week on a Boeing 767-300ER.
  • Bari, Italy: Starts May 1, 2026, operating four times per week on a Boeing 767-300ER.
  • Glasgow, Scotland: Daily seasonal service begins May 8, 2026, on a Boeing 737-MAX8.
  • Santiago de Compostela, Spain: Seasonal service begins May 22, 2026, operating three times per week on a Boeing 737-MAX8.
  • Reykjavik, Iceland: Daily service from Washington-Dulles begins May 21, 2026, on a Boeing 757-200.
  • Seoul, South Korea: Daily year-round flights from Newark begin September 4, 2026, on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • Tel Aviv, Israel: Third daily flight from Newark begins March 28, 2026, on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

United will also resume all nine routes from its historic 2025 summer expansion, including Ulaanbaatar, Nuuk, Palermo, Bilbao, Madeira Island, Faro, Kaohsiung, Dakar, and Puerto Escondido.

In total, the airline will offer more than 850 daily international flights to over 150 destinations in summer 2026, including 41 that no other U.S. airline serves.
