Two killed in head-on collision on Kings Highway in Saugerties

ULSTER COUNTY, NY – Two people were killed in a head-on crash early in the morning on Kings Highway near Sinsapaugh Lane, according to the Saugerties Police Department.

At approximately 5:27 a.m., officers responded to the scene and located two heavily damaged vehicles in the northbound lane. A 2023 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 65-year-old man from Waterbury, Connecticut, was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2022 Ford F-150 operated by a 19-year-old male from Lake Katrine.

The 65-year-old driver and his 61-year-old passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. The 19-year-old was transported to Health Alliance Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Saugerties Police Department, with assistance from the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, is leading the investigation. At this time, no tickets or arrests are anticipated.

Multiple agencies responded to assist, including the New York State Police, Mount Marion Fire Department, Centerville Cedar-Grove Fire District, Diaz Ambulance, and the Ulster County Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
