MONROE COUNTY, MO – A man connected to a homicide investigation in Ralls County was found deceased after shooting a deputy during a law enforcement operation in Paris, Missouri, on October 12, 2025, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, and Operation Relentless Pursuit arrived at a residence in Paris to locate a person of interest related to the Ralls County homicide case.
Upon entering the residence, the man inside opened fire, striking a Randolph County deputy. Officers returned fire and exited the residence. The deputy was transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
At around 2:00 p.m., the Moberly Police Department SWAT team arrived and attempted to make contact. By 4:50 p.m., SWAT officers entered the residence and located the man deceased. He was identified as 57-year-old Charles W. Armour of Paris, Missouri.
The investigation into both the Ralls County homicide and the Monroe County officer-involved shooting remains ongoing. Findings will be submitted to the respective county prosecutors for review.
