The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim in the fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday night in Porter, Texas. Rufino Gutierrez, 34, was found dead with a gunshot wound at a residence on Holly Ridge. Initially reported as a possible suicide, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes detectives are now treating the case as a homicide. Three injured in triple shooting after neighbor opens fire in Westgreen Park

Three people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds after an unprovoked shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. on April 22, 2023, in the 2100 block Branford Hills Ln in the west Harris County subdivision of Westgreen Park. Police believe the suspect has mental health issues. The suspect shot a neighbor three times without warning, prompting the victim's brother to pull out his own gun and shoot the suspect twice. The brother was also shot at least twice during the altercation. Both brothers were taken by life flight to a hospital, and all three individuals are expected to survive, as they are in stable condition. The suspect is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A house fire occurred in the Central Southwest area on March 19, 2023, at 4:20 a.m. The incident took place on the 4300 block of Trail Lake Dr. Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes and found a one-story house fully engulfed in flames. They made a defensive attack to combat the fire and protected nearby exposures, which sustained exterior damage. The fire was eventually extinguished, and an investigation to determine the cause and origin is underway. Crews from Stations 47, 2, 21, 59, 48, 80, and 24 responded to the incident. At approximately 10:22 p.m. on April 16, 2023, Houston Police Department (HPD) officers responded to a report of a shooting at 2300 Haldane. Two males were shot during the incident: one in his 40s, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, and another in his 20s, who was shot in the lower left leg. Both victims are in stable condition at local area hospitals. Preliminary information indicates that a white Chevy Tahoe with four Hispanic males inside, one armed with a pistol and another with a shotgun, approached the victims and robbed them. About an hour later, the suspects returned, and one of the males got out of the vehicle and shot the victims before fleeing the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are searching for the suspects involved in the shooting and robbery.

Houston man facing charges after shooting at a mother and HPD Helicopter

Charges have been filed against 52-year-old Lou Dustin Granados following an assault that took place at a residence on 4218 Crenshaw Street around 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 16. Granados is facing charges of aggravated assault of a family member in the 177th State District Court. Officers from the HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division were dispatched to the scene following a report of an assault-in-progress. Upon arrival, they discovered that Granados had assaulted a female and fired shots both inside and outside the residence.
