On Friday, August 12, 2022, firefighters with the Houston Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on the Crosby Enterprise that was docked in the Houston Ship Channel for construction. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the ship after the fire started in the living quarters for crew members from workers that were welding. All crew personnel were accounted for and off the ship, according to HFD. During the fire, HFD also stated a cooling station was set up using a City of Houston Metro bus for Houston Firefighters to cool off in as they worked in the blazing heat. Houston Firefighters were dispatched just around 1:45 a.m. to an Apartment Fire at the Kingswood Village Apartments located at 3233 Mangum Rd in Houston, Texas. The fire started towards the back of the apartment complex. It is unclear what started the fire at this time. Houston Police need your help identifying suspects that allegedly stole 5,000 gallons of diesel gasoline in the 800 block of South State Highway 6 in late July 2022. The suspects and their vehicles were caught by a surveillance camera. According to police, the suspects are believed to be driving two white Ford pickup trucks. A police chase turned deadly Tuesday morning when police when Houston Police say a driver lost control of his vehicle in the 10500 Block of West Montgomery. https://www.youtube.com/embed/hnXsxu0Rv7U Assistant Chief Belinda Null with the Houston Police Department Criminal Investigations Command stated in a media briefing that the suspect was observed by Houston Police Officers driving without any lights on around 12:43 a.m. on August 16, 2022. The officers then attempted to make a stop, suspecting it was a D.W.I., and put their lights on in an attempt to get the driver's attention and pull the driver over. The Atascocita Fire Department responded to a five-car pile-up on West Lake Houston at FM 1960 in Atascocita, Texas around 11:30 p.m. on August 15, 2022. https://www.youtube.com/embed/1LXfDfXHAQ0 Witnesses that were involved in the crash stated that their car was crossing the intersection headed northbound on West Lake Houston when another vehicle t-boned the car next to them. Police were dispatched to the 2900 Block of Brewster near US-59, the Eastex Freeway around 6:20 p.m in Houston’s Fifth Ward after a report of a drive by shooting. Upon arrival, police found a teenager that had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed the teen to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. A man was killed and two other men were shot outside a popular nightclub in Houston Sunday night. The shooting occurred on August 15, 2022, when police say three men were shot outside of Heart Nightclub located at 5002 Washington Avenue possibly over an argument about a woman. This is not the first time there was a major incident in the Heart nightclub parking area. Two weeks ago, on August 1, 2022, a man was reportedly stabbed outside of a nightclub. Houston Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 5600 block of Patrick Street in north Houston on August 14, 2022, around 11 p.m.

Greg Shead, a 24-year-old father was shot and killed during an argument early Sunday morning between two groups of people outside of Bowlero, a Houston Bowling Alley located in the 900 Block of Bunker Hill, just south of I-10, the Katy Freeway. The shooting occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on August 15, 2022, just after closing. Police say two groups of people got into an argument in the parking lot of the Bowelero on Bunker Hill. During the argument, two shots were fired, and at least one of them struck Greg Shead. He was pronounced dead on the scene. According to police at the scene, a white SUV was observed leaving the scene which may be connected to the shooting.
