Negligence is to blame for concrete truck falling off freeway and tragically killing toddler, family attorney says

A mother is grieving after losing her 22-month-old son when a cement truck fell from an above freeway on top of a vehicle below an overpass that was carrying the Resendiz family. The family has now filed a lawsuit in the Harris County District Court asking to be compensated for their son's wrongful death and injuries sustained from the tragic accident. The accident occurred on Beltway 8 East at Woodforest on August 5, 2022. During the initial investigation, Lt. Simon Cheng with the Harris County Sheriff's Office revealed that the driver of the cement mixer stated that the truck started slipping and she lost control of the vehicle, hitting a concrete barrier. One person is dead after an accident occurred in the 3900 block of Saunders Rd. in north Houston on Saturday morning. The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. on August 6, 2022. https://www.youtube.com/embed/0BSvosJpQS4 Officers with the Houston Police Department believe that this was a single-vehicle accident and do not have any suspects at this time but have released that a man was deceased. An overnight security guard at the nearby grocery store, Fiesta, (a popular grocery chain in the Houston area) stated that a lot of "kids speed down that street". He did not witness the accident. HPD searching for a woman suspect following a chase just east of Downtown Houston

A police chase ended after suspects crashed their car in a field, just east of downtown Houston on July 20, 2022 just after 2 a.m. Two suspects were detained shortly after the crash, and one suspect, a woman, remained on the loose. The suspects crashed their vehicle, a Nissan Maxima, close to the intersection of Leeland and Emancipation Avenue. Family of four injured in a major head-on collision Sunday morning in Houston on Parker Rd.

July 17, 2022 - A family of four was transported to a nearby hospital after being injured in a head-on collision at about 2:50 a.m. caused by another driver in the 900 Block of Parker Rd, close to the Hardy Toll Rd in Houston. According to Sgt. David Rose with the Houston Police Department, a white Chrysler Pacifica was headed westbound when the driver started "riding the median". As the vehicle was on the median, headed westbound towards I-45, the family in the pickup truck that traveling eastbound was struck by the driver in the white Pacifica. The family in the pickup truck was taken to a nearby hospital and received treatment for injuries and were listed in stable condition. The family did not suffer any major injuries. This happened at the intersection of Lockwood and Laura Koppe Rd. She was 23 years old at the time. The children and their mother were taken to a local hospital, but the mother did not make it. The deputy was pursuing a suspect, Davonte Williams, who was out on bail at the time and had just robbed a CVS Pharmacy in north Houston. Speeding driver flips vehicle and causes major fire at roofing supply company in NW Houston

A driver in NW Houston caused a major fire at a commercial roofing supply and distribution company after she was speeding down Mitchelldale St, just off of Antonie and US 290, and flipped her vehicle, causing it to catch on fire. The accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on July 11, 2022. Within minutes, the fire spread from her vehicle to supplies that were being stored in the parking lot of Commercial Distribution Specialists and staged for deliveries in the morning. These products, mostly made out of styrofoam, caught on fire and the fire spread quickly throughout the lot. The driver we are told somehow walked away without any major injuries. Suspects lead police on a short chase in north Houston before crashing into a ditch

A Toyota RAV 4 with Texas dealer plates took Houston Police on a chase through north Houston early Monday morning around 3 a.m. on July 4, 2022, before crashing into a ditch on Exeter St. at Skinner Rd. According to police radio traffic, the chase started when the suspects when police were called after several suspects were caught breaking into vehicles in the 1700 block of Wellington Street, which is between Aldine Westfield and the Hardy Toll road. The caller stated that there were three vehicles total, with a total of six suspects, all males in their 20s and 30s. The caller stated also stated that the suspects were stealing parts off vehicles using a "jigsaw". The three vehicles were described as a "silver Cadillac, gray and brown Jeep, and a blue truck."
