Delaware State Police investigating shooting outside Claymont liquor store

CLAYMONT, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night outside Ridge Liquors in Claymont. On Sept. 5, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., troopers were called to the 300 block of Ridge Road after a 34-year-old Pennsylvania man arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. Investigators determined the man had been in the parking lot of Ridge Liquors when unidentified suspects shot him. He was able to drive himself to a Pennsylvania hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. MIDDLETOWN, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred early September 1, 2025, on US Route 301 near Bunker Hill Road. The crash happened around 1:40 a.m. when a Ford Focus was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Kenworth tractor. The driver of the Ford, a 31-year-old man from Elkton, Maryland, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The driver of the Kenworth, a 60-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, and a 62-year-old female passenger, also from Yonkers, were both transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. SELBYVILLE, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Justin Glowacki of Selbyville for reckless endangering and gun offenses after an incident Saturday night. On August 30, 2025, around 9 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 12000 block of Knolls Lane in Selbyville for reports of a man shooting a firearm. Investigators determined that Glowacki was outside his residence screaming and cursing while firing a rimfire rifle at his feet and in the direction of a nearby home occupied by two adults. Troopers located Glowacki, who was highly intoxicated, at his residence on the 34000 block of Brinker Mansion Road. MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Djuan Sheppard of Millsboro on felony drug and weapon charges after executing a search warrant at his residence. On August 29, 2025, members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team conducted a search at a home in the 27000 block of Mount Joy Road. The warrant followed an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. Four adults, including Sheppard, were detained during the operation. On August 30, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., troopers were called to I-95 northbound near Marsh Road in Wilmington for a tan Ford Explorer that had driven off the roadway. Driver dies after vehicle overturns in Georgetown crash

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred earlier this month in Georgetown. On August 19, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on Hardscrabble Road, east of Tyndall Road, when it left the roadway and entered a ditch. The vehicle traveled along the ditch, struck a tree, overturned several times, and then hit a second tree. The driver, 29-year-old Marco Lobos-Simaj of Georgetown, was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries. He died on August 27, 2025, as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The crash happened on August 29, 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m. A gray Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Beach Highway, west of Webb Farm Road, at a high rate of speed when it entered the eastbound lane to pass two vehicles. As the rider returned to the westbound lane, he lost control, causing the motorcycle to skid off the roadway and strike a utility pole. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle.
