HOUSTON, TEXAS, August 25, 2023 - An officer-involved shooting occurred today at the Urban Palms Apartments, located at 8701 Town Park. The incident, involving a domestic disturbance, fortunately resulted in no injuries, according to Houston Police Department authorities. West Side Division officers initially responded to a 4 a.m. call concerning a dispute between a man and his girlfriend. Upon arriving, officers found that the couple had engaged in an argument while the woman was attempting to remove personal items from the residence. HOUSTON, Texas, Aug. 18 – A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting that left one man dead and a woman wounded. The incident took place on Almeda Genoa Road at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, according to Houston police. Trevon Demas is charged with the murder of 29-year-old Donald James and the wounding of an adult female. Charges were filed in the 176th State District Court. Demas was taken into custody at the Harris County Joint Processing Center on Wednesday, Aug. 17, while surrendering on a separate felony charge. Houston police reported that Mr. James had been arguing with a female outside a bar when an unknown male suspect approached and shot him. HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 12, 2023 - Two individuals were injured following a robbery that escalated into a double shooting in the 12700 block of Westheimer Road, according to Houston police. The incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday as two customers were leaving a bar and grill. The victims, a man and a woman, entered their truck when an unidentified male approached them, brandishing a firearm and demanding the male victim's wallet. Before the wallet could be handed over, the suspect fired his handgun, striking the male victim in the shoulder and the female in the eye. The suspect subsequently fled the scene on foot. HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 11, 2023 - An adult male was found with gunshot wounds in a pickup truck at approximately 11 p.m. in the 6300 block of Fairdale Street, according to the Houston Police Department. The victim had been shot at least twice and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The incident began with a traffic accident at 6300 Windswept, where the victim believed he and the other driver involved would exchange information. Instead, the other driver, who is the suspect in this case, opened fire on the victim. The wounded victim then drove to a parking lot where police were subsequently called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

HOUSTON, TX, AUGUST 13, 2023 - A high-speed police chase that originated in northwest Harris County ended in a crash at 1600 Nance Street at approximately 5:10 a.m. The suspects' vehicle reached speeds in excess of 120 mph, according to radio traffic. The suspects apparently lost control of the vehicle after exiting an off-ramp too quickly, resulting in the crash. Police officers detained two individuals at the scene after a short foot chase. Houston Fire Department was called to treat a person who was tasered during the incident. At this time, it remains unknown why the police chase was initiated.
