A fire was reported at the Alief Square Apartment Homes located at 7500 Cook Rd. in west Houston just shortly before 2 a.m. on July 25, 2022. During the initial response, responding firefighters reported smoke coming from one of the units. This is a developing story. We will update this page as we learn more. https://www.youtube.com/embed/5I97lxuaAXk A fire broke out late Saturday evening at the Sierra Ranch Apartments located at 8916 Datapoint in northwest San Antonio. Firefighters with the San Antonio Fire Department were dispatched at 10:50 p.m. on July 24 2022. According to a Battalion Chief on the scene, it was unclear exactly what started the fire. However, he stated that the fire started in a breezeway, and reached the attic of an apartment building inside the complex. The Chief also stated there were not any reported injuries to firefighters or residents at the complex. MCPD Officer shot by armed suspect, expected to make full recovery.

The officer who was shot last night by an armed suspect in the 6100 Block of Maywood in southwest Houston has been identified as Missouri City Police Officer Crystal Sepulveda. Post Oak and Beltway 8 in southwest Houston, early Saturday morning. At around 2:30 a.m., police were chasing a stolen vehicle in Southwest Houston. The suspect's vehicle ended up in someone's yard after the suspect lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle, a silver Hyundai Elantra had Florida license plates could be seen in the yard in front of 15506 Corsair Rd. The suspect bailed and fired at officers. Rebecca Bridges of Houston Dog Mom took to Facebook Friday afternoon expressing frustration over a lost puppy named Lola. In the post she claims that Lola, a black staff/pitty mix that is just four months old, was placed in an Uber on Friday morning around 8 a.m. Lola was supposed to show up at the Pearland Canine Resource Center, a veterinary clinic in Pearland, TX. Lola never made it. Instead, Rebecca claims that the Uber driver panicked after he pulled over at a Travel Center, (TA Express) off 288, and Almeda Genoa to clean the kennel. Federal judge rules against Catholic woman who claims Aspirus fired her because of her religious beliefs

A federal judge in Wisconsin dismissed a woman’s claims that she was discriminated against by her employer after she lost her job for refusal of getting a COVID-19 vaccine. The employer also gave her a chance to get tested bi-weekly in lieu of getting a vaccine in order to come back to work, but she refused, quoting her religion as an exemption to both the vaccine and testing. COVID-19 Testing Center   In court documents filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, the woman, Jo Anne Egelkrout was working at the time for Aspirus, Inc., a non-profit healthcare organization with a network of hospitals and clinics. Man fatally shot during an altercation at King’s Cove Luxury Apartments in Kingwood, TX

A man was fatally shot during what police believe was an altercation at King's Cove Luxury Apartments in Kingwood (4920 Magnolia Cove) Texas. According to Lt. Issac Jefferson with the Houston Police Department, the man was found by officers who were responding to a report of a shooting, on a sidewalk between two apartment buildings in the complex. He was pronounced deceased on the scene. It is unclear what led up to the shooting but Lt. Jefferson stated that he was in an apartment with two other males and a female before an altercation broke out inside the upstairs apartment. Suspects lead HPD on a chase through Houston’s Fifth Ward

The chase ended shortly after 4 a.m. in the 3000 Block of Jewel St., when the suspects realized it was a dead-end. The driver was detained immediately. Two passengers fled, and one of them was caught after a few minutes. K-9 units and a Helicopter Unit were on the scene assisting in the search.
