State Rep. Vikki Goodwin unveils Texas Cares health plan in Houston

TEXAS – State Rep. Woman dies, two juveniles flown to hospital after Highway 6 crash

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - A woman died, and two juveniles suffered life-threatening injuries in a major crash in the 4600 block of Highway 6 near Clay Rd. https://youtu.be/jpMzupjlmGk According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, District 5 deputies and emergency personnel responded to the crash around 6:26 p.m. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the two juveniles were flown by Life Flight to a hospital. Investigators are reviewing video believed to have captured the crash. A witness who saw the entire crash remained at the scene and spoke with investigators. The occupants’ identities, ages and relationships have not been confirmed. Investigators had not contacted the vehicle’s registered owner. The investigation remains ongoing.

SWAT called after man receives text message, holds father hostage in bathroom

The original disturbance reportedly began after the man received a text message. The man barricaded himself inside a bathroom with his father after seeing officers. Police had information that he was armed, and he refused to comply with verbal commands. The man’s mother was safely evacuated from the apartment. HPD’s SWAT and hostage negotiation teams responded, and the man and his father were brought out safely. No injuries were reported.
