Two injured after fireworks dispute escalates into exchange of gunfire in southeast Houston
HOUSTON - Two people were injured after a Fourth of July fireworks dispute escalated into an exchange of gunfire early Sunday morning in southeast Houston.
Houston police responded to a shooting call around 1 a.m. in the 6800 block of Winton Street.
Officers found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower leg. She was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
An adult man also suffered a gunshot wound to his foot. He transported himself to a nearby hospital and is also in stable condition.
According to Houston police, the incident began when neighbors were setting off fireworks in the area and were confronted by people a couple of houses away. A verbal altercation followed before firearms ...
