Motorcyclist identified in fatal Smyrna crash

SMYRNA, DE – Delaware State Police have identified 59-year-old Joseph Laclair of Clayton as the man who died in a motorcycle crash Friday morning in Smyrna. On Sept. 5, 2025, at about 4:16 a.m., a Yamaha X1A was traveling eastbound on Smyrna-Leipsic Road, east of Big Oak Road, when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The motorcycle entered a ditch, struck a culvert pipe, and the driver was ejected. Laclair was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Smyrna-Leipsic Road was closed for several hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate. CLAYMONT, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested both suspects connected to a July robbery at a McDonald’s in Claymont. On July 8, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to McDonald’s at 2702 Philadelphia Pike for a reported robbery. Investigators determined two males had met with the victim inside the restaurant to purchase an item listed for sale. Before the transaction was completed, one suspect grabbed the victim’s bag, leading to a struggle. During the altercation, one suspect grabbed at his waistband and implied he had a firearm. The victim released the bag, and both suspects fled toward Philadelphia Pike with his property. The victim was not injured. FRANKFORD, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured early Thursday morning in Frankford. On Sept. 4, 2025, at about 2:41 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Honolulu Road and Reed Street after reports of gunfire. They found a 27-year-old man from Frankford and a 38-year-old woman from Selbyville with injuries. According to investigators, the victims were traveling in the area when unknown suspects fired multiple rounds at their vehicle. The woman was injured by glass debris, while the man sustained both debris-related injuries and a gunshot wound to his hand. On Sept. 5, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., troopers were called to the 300 block of Ridge Road after a 34-year-old Pennsylvania man arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. Investigators determined the man had been in the parking lot of Ridge Liquors when unidentified suspects shot him. He was able to drive himself to a Pennsylvania hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. HOUSTON, TX – A Harris County grand jury has charged Andre Medlock with capital murder in connection to the killing of 30-year-old Miles Everett during an alleged robbery in 2022. According to Case No. 1930629 filed in Harris County District Court, investigators with the Houston Police Department linked Medlock to the death of Everett, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds near the 6300 block of Scarlet Drive. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office announced two arrests following a narcotics search warrant carried out in the 900 block of Shawnee Street on Sept. 4, 2025. According to the Constable’s Office, the Street Crimes Unit, assisted by the Precinct 2 Special Operations Unit, located three individuals inside the residence during the search. Two were identified as Meghann Jean Coleman, 42, and Jose Angel Munoz, 46. A third female was released without charges. Munoz was found to have an active theft warrant from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Uber delivery leads to drug arrest in Splendora

SPLENDORA, TX – A man was arrested after police said he attempted to use an Uber driver to deliver a package containing narcotics. According to the Splendora Police Department, the suspect arranged for an Uber to transport a box he claimed contained baby wipes. The driver became suspicious after noticing a strong odor from the package and instead brought it to the Splendora Police Department. Upon inspection, officers said the box contained a large amount of methamphetamine and several THC cartridges concealed inside.
