The Baytown Police Department Reconstruction Team responded and initiated an investigation. The driver of the involved vehicle was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated. Man pronounced deceased after family disturbance in Baytown

BAYTOWN, TX (December 7, 2025) – Baytown Police responded to a family disturbance shortly before midnight on December 5 at a home in the 1600 block of Mississippi Street. https://youtu.be/28P_0I8PQUw Officers arrived to find 49-year-old Michael Ward of Baytown with gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures until EMS arrived and assumed care. Ward was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit were called to the residence to document evidence and continue the investigation. One person of interest has been detained as the case remains active.
