HOUSTON, TX – A Houston Police sergeant shot a suspect after being pinned by a vehicle in the 5000 block of Westheimer around 5:20 p.m. Saturday evening, according to HPD. https://youtu.be/uJDjlT7myU8 The incident began when officers working an extra job near the Galleria identified a vehicle believed to be connected to a previous crime. As they approached, the driver exited a private property and began traveling against traffic on Westheimer. According to HPD, a sergeant approached the driver’s side, at which point he became pinned between the suspect’s vehicle and another object. HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot during an altercation involving a new boyfriend and an ex-boyfriend at the Quail Creek Apartments in northwest Houston. https://youtu.be/za655LVjOLM Houston Police Department Northwest Patrol officers responded to the shooting around midnight in the 8000 block of Grow Lane. The confrontation occurred outdoors in a common area of the apartment complex. The victim, believed to be the ex-boyfriend and in his 30s, was shot once in the lower extremities. Responding officers applied a tourniquet to his leg before he was transported by Houston Fire Department medics to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. A possible suspect is in custody. No children were present during the incident.

One person transported to hospital after house fire in northeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – One person was transported to the hospital as a precaution following a house fire in the 5500 block of Weaver Drive in northeast Houston. https://youtu.be/1eCDtD5tdqg Houston Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene around 10:11 p.m. and arrived by 10:15 p.m. to find the structure heavily involved in flames. Reports indicated that all occupants had exited the residence prior to firefighters’ arrival. Crews conducted an offensive fire attack while confirming that no one remained inside the structure. No firefighter injuries were reported. Arson investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Driver in critical condition after driving recklessly on Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A multi-vehicle crash occurred around 12:14 a.m. in the 17100 block of the Eastex Freeway, involving a black sedan, a pickup truck, and an 18-wheeler. https://youtu.be/sSpnXtnJJWo The black sedan was reportedly traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic before striking the pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup to collide with an 18-wheeler and then a utility pole. The driver of the black sedan was transported to the hospital in critical condition and remains in critical condition as of the last update. The officer was detaining the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle when another vehicle approached on the shoulder without slowing down and struck the rear door of the patrol car. The officer dove into the vehicle to avoid a direct hit but was struck in the leg. The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for evaluation. One person found dead after apartment fire at Tempo III Townhomes in Houston

Houston Fire Department crews arrived within minutes and encountered heavy flames coming from two floors, with fire visible from both the front and side of the unit.
