A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a man at 8415 Bucroft Street on March 5. The victim was found around 10:05 a.m. and has been identified as 42-year-old Christopher Chaisson Bedford.
Keivon Sharmon Howard, 27, has been charged with murder in the 339th State District Court.
According to HPD Homicide Division, Bedford was seated in his vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot when he was approached by an unknown individual armed with an assault rifle. The suspect fired multiple shots at Bedford and then fled the scene. Paramedics later pronounced Bedford deceased at the location.
Further investigation led to the identification of Howard as the primary suspect in the case. He was arrested on March 23 by the HPD Northeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team without incident.
